Midnight Moon QAL
Midnight Moon QAL
Boo! We're brewing up a bit of summer sewing fun to get us ready for October.
Planning ahead is the key to getting holiday quilts finished in time! So a Halloween-themed Midnight Moon quilt - and quilt-along - is how we're going to get that done for 2022. We're starting now!
Midnight Moon measures 70½" x 78¾", and it's made with twenty-four different block, each made in three sizes. The smaller blocks are finished with sashings and additional pieces to make all the blocks the same size. There is a lot of sewing, but it looks more complicated than it is.
We'll be sharing tips and encouragement along the way, and at the pace we're going, you'll be finished before you know it.
The sewing starts next Saturday, April 9.
But you need to know what you need, right?
The fabric collection is Midnight Magic II by April Rosenthal. The quilt is made with the book, Summer Moon, from It's Sew Emma, so you'll need that. There will also be a few, new Halloween-themed blocks shared along the way, they're optional. But they're not, they're way too cute not to want to include. (We'll share those here as free downloads.)
Fabric! Here is the list of Yardage Requirements for the quilt we're making.
Midnight Moon QAL Fabric Requirements
If your local quilt shop doesn't have this collection, or doesn't have all of it, we've included the collection stock numbers. For the backgrounds, we've added a few options, and we've included the names of those collections too.
We're also sharing the breakdown for each week's blocks - which blocks, and which fabrics are being used for them.
Midnight Moon QAL Weekly Block Breakdown
If you're quilting-along, or still a bit on the fence, the fun can be found at #modamidnightmoonqal.
We're back next Saturday with a Churn Dash and an Album block.
I expect there will be a few other surprises along the way.
