Welcome To Moda Fabrics!
Block Heads 2 - Block 43
Block Heads 2 - Block 43
You're completely caught up with forty-two blocks made, right? Me? No a chance. In car-racing parlance... I'm so far behind, I'm about to be lapped by the field.
It's Wednesday and we've got Block 43 to share - it's Mosaic and it's from Brigitte Heitland - aka Zen Chic.
Brigitte has been using her Modern Backgrounds Paper and More Paper fabrics as backgrounds, with a beautiful palette of BasicGrey's Grunge mixed in for a bit of color... more on her quilt in a moment.
Moda Michele used fabrics from Howard Marcus' Collection for a Cause - Preservation to make this beautiful block - with the perfect fussy-cut center. And yes, Michele is caught up.
Brigitte has been making her blocks, posting each week on her Instagram - @zenchicmoda.
Block 42 - Bella Spinners. The block, the words and the entire image are distinctive and original. Rather like Brigitte.
This is Brigitte's quilt so far... she's got a new grandson so she's just a bit behind with a couple of blocks.
I look forward to seeing pictures of this one quilted and finished - it's going to be spectacular.
Brigitte's latest collection is Day In Paris and it will be headed to shops in early April.
A few of the prints have subtle touch of gold metallic for embellishment - not all the prints, just a few of them.
It wouldn't be a Zen Chic collection without a modern-take on classic geometric prints - the best "blenders" for every quilt or project.
This is Faded - it finishes at 73" x 73" and is accessible to Beginning quilters. As Brigitte writes - Stitch a velvety night sky of twinkling and fading stars from an assortment of rich colors against a deep blue background.
X And Plus - A myriad of X and a plethora of +? The patches add up to something sweet. Finishing at 83" x 83", this quilt can be made with fat quarters or scraps.
That's it for today - there will be more with Brigitte and Day In Paris soon.
Just in case you missed it - Block 43 - Mosaic.
And - Final Quilt Assembly Instructions & Assembly.
